LEIN
STUDIO
SoHo, New York City

The founder of LEIN, Meredith Stoecklein, had an unconventional brief for our team – to craft an intimate and luxurious showroom for her clients in her SoHo loft apartment. The loft space on SoHo’s iconic Broome St. needed to seamlessly serve clients for their bridal fittings while covertly acting as Meredith’s primary residence.

Our strategy was to section off the more private parts of the studio space with gorgeous, draping ceiling-height curtains and to use versatile furniture and accessories that could seamlessly change the space from a studio to a home. During the day, a corner of the main space is the fitting room with what appears to be a gorgeous wood wardrobe and long, draping curtains. In the evening, the dark wardrobe dips down into  a canopy bed  and the linen curtains provide a cozy, private sleeping space. The living space functions as a comfortable social space for Meredith and friends, as well as guests of brides during fittings.

The goal was to craft a beautiful, unexpected space with layers of feminine and organic details to reflect the essence of the brand. Drenched in neutral colors and robust textures, there is an element of masculinity and earthiness in the interiors that challenges traditional bridal spaces. A vintage Danish wingback chair was reupholstered in a camel shearling fabric and paired with a nubby wool tassel rug and vintage Brutalist wooden coffee tables. The live-edge desk – a piece Meredith had custom-made years ago – was paired with an organic-shaped chair and a vintage mid-century table lamp. The studio is an unexpected departure from traditional bridal showrooms, and the unconventional use of the space is perfect for a young, talented fashion entrepreneur.
